The purpose of this paper is to clarify the influence of the difference between forward- and swept-back configuration on the cooling fan performance. As the first report, this paper focused on P-Q characteristic and analyzed the flow structure around the ring-fans using RANS calculations after experimental validation. As a result, it was found that P-Q characteristic had the remarkable difference between the configurations while there was only a little difference using propeller fan which investigated in previous reports. Then the fluid mechanism which induced the difference of P-Q characteristics using CFD results was discussed.
