The effect of a delta-wing row on the turbulent mixing of hot and cold airflows in a T-junction with rectangular cross sections was examined experimentally. The wing row was attached on the upstream wall of the branch. The simultaneous measurements of fluctuating velocity and temperature were made to make clear the distributions of turbulent heat fluxes. Moreover, the distributions of turbulent Prandtl number were calculated based on the measurement results. It was found that the distributions of the turbulent heat flux in the vertical direction were similar to those of the fluctuating temperature intensity, and the turbulence promotion effect of delta-wing row was not observed in the turbulent heat flux. Turbulent Prandtl number was distributed quite discretely and no systematic distributions were observed. This suggests that the assumption of constant Prandtl number is not appropriate for predicting the turbulent thermal mixing in the T-junction using turbulence models.
