The turbopumps for the rocket engines are high-speed turbomachinery to send propellant to the combustion chambers. Rotor vibration induced by high rotational speed is the serious problem to lead to catastrophic damage. We had developed the morphology design method in order to solve the rotor vibration problems. This design method considers the layout and the permutation of the rotor elements (inducer, impeller, turbine, bearing and seal) constituting turbopump as design parameters. This design method plans the optimization of rotor vibration properties in early phase of design. In this study, we apply the morphology design method to single stage impeller and two-stage impeller for the turbopump and show the effect on rotor vibration characteristics by the difference in the number of the impeller stages.
