Friction and wear phenomena between metals are very complex because various influence factors affect them. So, it is very difficult to predict friction coefficient and wear amount correctly. In this study, the formation process of metallic transfer layer was investigated by an in situ observation and various measurements with a pin-on-disk-type sliding friction tester.
