There are large electrode wear in the contouring EDM because material removing per unit area of electrode surface is larger than those in the other types of EDM. There is a problem that the machining accuracy is worsen because electrode wear is large. The purpose of this study is to reduce the machining error by generating a machining path in consideration of shape of electrode wear predicted. From the result of the processing experiment with changing the tool path in consideration of the electrode wear predicted, it was possible to reduce the average of shape error to 62% less than that in the case of ignoring the electrode wear.
