Abstract

The author attended the Earth Summit held on June 3 to 14, 1992 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Based on this experience, he discusses the impact of Agenda 21 and Rio Declaration, among others, on COP 1 to 21 thereafter held, Earth Charter launched on 29 June 2000, environmental policies, laws, regulations and their practices, engineering, technological and environmental education, and trends of these environmental issues in the early 1990's in Japan.
