Extendable composite masts with open cross-section have been often used as extendable structures on conventional satellites. Because of high storage efficiency of extendable masts, it fits also with nano-satellite. In this research, extendable mast is used on a nano-satellite, and a load is applied on the mast. We developed analytical model of extendable mast to predict its dynamic behavior on orbit. The analysis takes into consideration the influence of bearing attached to reduce load input and initial imperfection of an extendable mast. The analysis model is formulated based on beam theory, and parameters were identified from a series of experiments on the ground.
