In the present study, in order to understand the mechanism of electrical degradation of flexible solar cell under cyclic loading, cyclic tensile tests were performed with the maximum strains of 0.8% and 1.2%. Microdamages initiation and accumulation were detected by the acoustic emission (AE) techniques. The electrical degradation of solar cell was evaluated by monitoring electrical power calculated from I-V curve. Furthermore, microdamages contributing to the electrical degradation were identified by the lock-in thermography (LT). Consequently, it was demonstrated that microdamage can be monitored by AE technique and the contribution of microdamages can be characterized by LT technique.
