We've been improving SKYACTIV-D drastically with a lot of new technologies in terms of drivability, fuel efficiency, emission, and NVH since the first-generation CX-5 launched in 2012. The novel concept of combustion for NVH has been applied for new SKYACTIV-D 2.2 since CX-8 launched in 2017. Furthermore, the brand-new technologies are applied for the one equipped ATENZA and CX-5 launched in 2018 with, consisting of advanced Natural Sound Smoother and the others. In this paper, we introduce these innovative technologies which realize the engine sound expressing “driving pleasure”.
