An understanding of physical phenomena in products is important to investigate reliability of product design. In recent years, many CAE (Computer-Aided Engineering) codes have high potential to predict multi-physical phenomena in the products. However, in order to apply novel attractive functions to next-generation products, the acceleration of design processes of the products becomes more important. Especially, an investigation of a relationship between attractive qualities of products and emotions or sensitivity of customers is needed and finding of a novel idea from a broad perspective like a brain-storming also becomes more important. An application of 1DCAE theory in the upstream design process is effective in order to predict physical phenomena in products rapidly. In this report, the relationship between an understanding of physical phenomena in the products and 1DCAE theory in the case of a heat transfer problem is discussed.
