In recent years, wide interests are on the increase of domestic energy self-sufficiency rate. Therefore, we aimed for the new design and development of the 1kW-grade micro Horizontal Axis Wind Turbine (μHAWT) that can be easily installed in imminent life spaces. In this report, we analyzed flow field of the wind turbine rotor using open source CAE. We performed the unsteady turbulent numerical simulations of the wind turbine rotor, and effect of spinner at different shapes. We found that the increase of rotor torque as the larger spinner radius.
