An attempt was made for a system measuring to evaluate the turbulence to be constructed in the liquid flow produced by a mechanically rotating impeller in an agitation vessel type apparatus. The system measuring with the particle tracking velocimetry (PTV) was applied to the discharge stream through a conventional disk turbine impeller with six flat blades and determined three-dimensionally the turbulent flow velocity. The results with variation of the liquid phase and measurement conditions were compared to those with the laser Doppler velocimetry (LDV) and then an applicability of this system was discussed.
