Abstract

In recent years, vibration energy harvesting is considered to be a strong candidate as a new possibility. Therefore, we manufactured and examined a vibration energy harvester using vibration generated by walking. The manufactured energy harvester has that put a steel ball between two piezoelectric elements of the cantilever beam at both ends. The steel ball rolls in the energy harvester by vibration in the horizontal direction. And power is generated by the colliding of the piezoelectric element and the steel ball. In this study, the power generation efficiency of two types of the piezoelectric element evaluation from experimental. One of the piezoelectric element has characteristic of high output voltage, the other high output current. Output voltage and output current were investigated from experiments. The amount of electricity at that time was stored in a capacitor. As a result, it was found that high output voltage type had better power generation efficiency.
