Abstract

In this research, we study grid-generated turbulence under low Reynolds number conditions using numerical analysis. In particular, the properties of grid-generated turbulence in the developing stage are investigated in this study. The numerical analysis is applied in this research. Here, the numerical analysis of this study can sufficiently conserve turbulence-kinetic energy. In this study, we focus on the turbulence statistics of static pressure fluctuations in addition to the turbulence-kinetic energy. The results of static pressure fluctuations will be expected to be obtained with sufficient accuracy by improving the accuracy of the conservation characteristics of turbulent kinetic energy in the numerical analysis. In this study, the instantaneous velocity field of grid-generated turbulence in the developing stage is investigated. By changing the horizontal position of the contour view showing the instantaneous velocity field, the characteristics of the turbulent flow field at the developing stage are visualized.
