Abstract

It took less than 7 hours to handcraft the prototype of low temperature differential model Stirling engine. The prototype was designed to be contracted in 2-day-craft-workshop for beginners. The 2-day-craft-workshop was aimed to be held at Saturday and Sunday of a weekend. The design of the prototype is based on the “Handcrafted model Stirling engine” proposed by Kato in 2014. There are some differences between two kinds of low temperature differential model Stirling engine. The new prototype does not use silicon sealant, 1.0mm-thick-PVC board, and 5mm-thick polystyrene foam as materials. The scissor used for making new LTDSE is typical scissors for office. Although cutting 1.0mm-thick-PVC board by such scissors for office requires force, the thickness of PVC board used for the new prototype is 0.5mm. To make the bore of some holes on the PVC board and aluminum tray about 6mm, a chamfer drill was used instead of a taper reamer. One of two bearings which support main journal of crankshaft does not cover upper surface of the crankshaft.
