Abstract
We are developing a parallel visualization system for large-scale analysis in computational mechanics using the virtual reality environment named CABIN and a PC-based cluster. This system computes visualizing processes on the PC-based cluster, while CABIN provides a large scale and realistic space in immersive multiscreen display. This makes it easy to understand analysis results of large-size structures, but requires excessive computer resources. Thus we employed the PC-based cluster, which supplies the processed data to the front-ended CABIN system. In this paper we connect the front-end and back-end systems with a software bus (CORBA). Consequently we dissolve the scale limit derived from the performance of the front-ended workstations.
