Abstract
This paper is to introduce the method of acquiring an accurate constitutive model of elastic rubber material from test data. Uniaxial tension and compression tests of vibration isolation rubber for hydraulic damped engine mount are done. The experimental data are carefully processed with curve fitting in order to obtain stable parameters of constitutive law. Various constitutive forms for different scales of strain are analyzed. Due to the nonlinear property of rubber, different forms of constitutive law should be adopted for different range of strain. The constitutive forms obtained will be applied to the simulation and design of hydraulic damped engine mount. This modeling technique can also be useful for modeling of other kind of rubber materials.
