In this paper a kind of structure topology optimization method using compliant mechanism is proposed to be used in the simultaneous optimum design. Applying this mechanism, the amplitude of applied force not only can be amplified and but also the direction of force can be changed to the specified direction. With the control system becoming an integral part in machines recently, mutual interaction of the structure and the control system ha becoming an essential factor in designing them. In this study, smart material is employed to control the structure vibration and increase the total reliability. The optimal placement of PZT actuators for active vibration control of a pate structure is simulated to show this effect.
