Abstract
This paper studies the ride discomfort of transported-patient caused by the longitudinal acceleration of ambulance. Six healthy subjects rated ride discomfort caused by the longitudinal acceleration of an ambulance using continuous category method. A multi-layered feed-forward neural network model for estimating ride discomfort index using longitudinal acceleration and jerk of the ambulance as input was proposed and testified.
