Abstract

In this paper, we present an optimum design method of suspensions for ambulances and vibration-isolation beds for reducing jolts experienced by patients when ambulances pass over a combined speed hump and pedestrian crossing. As a result of the optimum design of the suspensions, the optimum dampers and the optimum air springs of each of the ambulance and vibration-isolation bed suspensions are obtained and the jolts are reduced.
