Abstract

The distribution of load in screw thread have very important effect on the strength of bolt and nut connections. It has long been reported that the distribution of load along the length of a nut for triangle is not uniform. And, the triangle thread has been usually in the bolted joint, however, others such as the buttress thread may be used for ensuring the tight-fastening of screw plug. Therefore, the load distribution has been investigated for the case where such the buttress thread is used for the bolted joint., and its influence on the load distribution has been examined in comparison with the triangle thread.
