Abstract

Oil flow rate to a con-rod big-end bearing was studied with theoretical and experimental approach. The Elrod's algorithm was applied to the mass conserving EHL theory with a simple model of oil flow in a passage. A hot film anemometer was calibrated and applied to the measurement of oil flow rate. The oil flow rate to con-rod big-end bearing in an experimental engine was calculated and measured under full load operations.
