Abstract
The velocity fluctuation wave in a turbulent separating flow over a cavity is actively controlled in order to reduce the aerodynamic noise. The flow control technique to create velocity fluctuation patterns that have phase differences along the spanwise direction is employed. Bimorph type actuators which perform bending motion are attached to the upstream-side wall inside the cavity. Results show that capabilities of Bimorph type actuators to create velocity fluctuation field and reduce aerodynamics noise surplus those of the Unimorph type actuators.
