Abstract

This paper describes a haptic device for Aerial Drawing through embodiment. We have studied the system that can draw freely in the air by the fingertip. And in the series of this study, it was reported that the location disparity between the virtual objects and the real fingertip may cause a sense of incongruity during drawing activities. In order to solve the problem, we developed the haptic device that applies force feedback to a fingertip under drawing and a few drawing experiments were performed using this device. As a result the sense of the disparity of the position sensation of the finger under drawing tends to become reduced. This result indicates the possibility of emerging a certain function to weaken this sense of incongruity.
