Abstract
The compressive fracture model applicable to the graphite material is proposed in this paper. The model can predict compressive strength using microstructure-related properties such as pore size distribution, pore density, grain size. To validate the model, compressive strength test was carried out using near-isotropic nuclear grade graphite. From comparison between model prediction and experimental results, it is found that the model is applicable to predict roughly the compressive strength of graphite.
