In fabric shaping process of Resin Transfer Molding, fabrics deform with inter-fiber sliding and buckling of yarns. We observe inter-fiber sliding and buckling of yarns in deep drawing with a cylindrical punch. Amount of punch traveling and dimensions of the radius of a molding die affect inter-fiber sliding and buckling of yarns. To simulate these kinds of deep drawings, we improve the conventional pin-jointed model by including inter-fiber sliding. In the proposed model of fabrics, inter-fiber sliding at an intersection of yarns is represented by elastic-plastic behavior of shell elements corresponding to intersections of yarns.
