Abstract
Fundamental experiment was carried out on the boiling phenomena of perfluorocarbon PF5050 liquid pool, the top surface of which was heated by impingement of a downward hot water jet flow. Both water and PF5050 were immiscible with each other. Because the density of water was smaller than that of PF5050,water accumulated on the PF5050 pool, and a continuous (non-dispersed) horizontal liquid-liquid interface appeared. Visual observation showed that the location of generated vapor bubble departure and the entrainment (droplet) generation were influenced by the flow structure of jet impinging and rebounding on the liquid-liquid interface. Heat transfer rate was larger than that in the ordinary pool boiling case.
