Abstract
This paper presents an experimental study of the surface wettability on stainless plate in high-temperature and high-pressure environment. By utilizing a pressure vessel, contact angles of water droplets as an indicator of macroscopic surface wettability were measured in ranging from 20 to 300℃ at consistent pressure of 15 MPa. Measured contact angles decreased with temperature below 250℃, which clustered around a straight line when temperature below 120℃ and around another line in ranging from 120℃ to 250℃. When temperature above 250℃, on the other hand, the contact angles kept constant independently of temperature above 250℃, on the other hand, the contact angles kept constant independently of temperature, and a highly hydrophilic condition or a null contact angle condition was not achieved contrary to the existing theoretical model.
