We import natural gas in the form of LNG by LNG carriers. While the prime movers of LNG carriers are mostly steam turbine systems at present, a diesel prime mover with LNG reliquefaction system is proposed as an alternative system, pursuing economical improvement. Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Ltd. and Kawasaki Shipuilding Corporation have developed the dynamic model of the LNG reliquefaction system and been analyzing the dynamic characteristics. This paper describes the developed dynamic model and the simulation result.
