Flows between rotating two cylinders with finte lengths were investigated numerically and the results were compared with experimental observations. The axes of concentric cylinders are aligned in the gravitational direction. The bottom end wall of cylinders is fixed wall and the top end is the free surface. The modeling method used in the present study considered the effect of the surface tension, as well as the effect of the graviation. The flow is accelerated from rest, and the evolutions into fully developed flows are investigated. The behavior of vortices at the free surface boundary and the final flow modes, which are predicted numerically, are compared with those obtained by experimental observations.
