Development of Granulated Abrasive Wheel with Gelatinized Calcium Alginate Bond

Abstract

This paper describes about a development of granulated abrasive wheel and the polishing characteristics of granulated abrasives wheel. The granulated abrasive wheel was mad for trial by the next processes. At first, abrasives were mixed with sodium alginate aqueous solution and secondary it was dropped in the calcium chloride bath. Finally, granulated abrasives were fixed with the binder. To evaluate the feasibility of the wheel, the granulated abrasive wheel performed grinding test of fused silica glass.
