A numerical approach is proposed to design the cross sectional construction of a ski from the shape and flexural rigidities of a ski, which are previously determined referring a skiing characteristic. Furthermore, three kinds of laminated plate are produced for a experimental study. Their flexural rigidities in the longitudinal direction are measured and compared with the flexural rigidity estimated numerically using the proposed numerical approach. From the comparison it follows that one can determine the construction of the cross section of ski from the shape and flexural rigidity.
