In order to evaluate surface energy in the micro groove machined w1th an end mill, the contact angle of micro condensed droplets were measured with an ESEM. By using this method, surface energy of micro area in the groove as -upper cut area and down cut area can be evaluated' by this method. As a results, the micro area of down cut shows smaller contact angle than upper cut area for soda-lime glass specimen and Si(111) specimen. Hydro bonding force term of surface energy of the glass reduced by micro cutting. On the other hand, hydro bonding force term of Si(111) become large by micro cutting.
