Abstract
Some experiments using JARI-Driving Simulator were conducted with a low-speed adaptive cruise control system (low-speed ACC). The notion of Situation Awareness (SA) that is used to make clear plane accident or make important matter for the automated systems was applied. Drivers' thinking for the event in this study was guessed using the way of SA to find out how and why the drivers' behavior was changed when driving a vehicle equipped. The results of the investigations clarified that a) drivers' operation was influenced by the task to observe the action of the system, whereas b) this method using notion of SA was effective to evaluate driving support system.
