Abstract
A single type self-powered active control, in which a single actuator produces a control force with regenerating vibration energy and requires no additional energy for control, is applied to an automobile suspension. The method to calculate a balance between regenerated and consumed energy is derived and a chart of the balance is presented. This reveals the condition under which the single type control is feasible.
