Diesel vehicles have a good fuel economy and high durability. On the other hand, further reduction of NOx, CO, HC and Particulate Matter (PM) emitted from the diesel vehicle has been sought. The purpose.of this study was reduction of NOx emission from a heavy, duty diesel engine using the Urea SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) system. The performance of NOx reduction at low temperature was measured to improve the Urea SCR catalysts. The conversions of NOx emission were evaluated over the Japan diesel 13 mode and the transient mode (JE05 mode). The conversion efficiencies of NOx emission were obtained 63% at the Japan diesel 13 mode and 53% at the transient mode (JE05 mode).
