This paper gives a study on some characteristics of Solar CO_2 Rankine system, which has a potential of effectively utilizing renewable energy and settling environmental pollution problem. Carbon dioxide is employed in the system as working fluid for power generation, heat supply, and air conditioning etc. The experimental set-up is mainly comprised of evacuated solar collector, pressure relief valve, heat exchangers and feed pump. The experiments have been carried out under different conditions, such as different whether conditions, various opening of pressure relief valve, different temperatures of cooling water etc. Some optimum operating conditions were obtained from the arrangement of the experimental results.
