Abstract
Electric carts can be easily operated with only a handle and an accelerator lever. They should be very useful for the elderly and the physically handicapped. Most electric carts employ on oval steering handle mechanism, making operation difficult. As operator moves his upper part to avoid this inconvenience in turning the handle, the center of gravity of the cart and the operator is moved to the extreme centrifugal direction. In this study, we have investigated how sheeting posture is influenced by the characteristic of seat materials. Evaluation method of the seat measured resilience rate and the time change of the displacement by pressure. As electric cart traveling, the seat which time change is slow decreased the movement of human body center. This seat was quite comfortable for electric carts.
