3304 The application of on-site sampling machine to SPC test for thermal power plant

Abstract

Small punch creep (SPC) method and an electric discharge type of sampling machine newly developed were applied to evaluate the residual creep life of thermal power plant. Sampling operation of test material from boiler pipe of power plant were performed on-site. The material sampled is about 1mm thickness×20mm wide×30mm length, and machined to SPC specimens of 0.5mm thickness. SPC tests with specimens of 0.5mm thickness were performed and a residual creep life was evaluated.
