Abstract
This paper discusses the importance of engineering education for students through restoration of "Kunst Fontein" written in the ancient document named "Itto-shikyuroku" by Benkichi Ohno (1801-1870). Recently, young people who are interested in engineering and mathematics are diminishing because there are a few workshops which give opportunities to learn engineering. Then we remarked the simple mechanism of "Kunst Fontein", developed assembly kit using PET (polyethylene terephthalate resin) bottle and use it in our workshops. For better fountain performance, we demonstrate the relationship between height of fountain and each conditions i.e., diameter of tubes, shape of a nozzle, by hydrodynamic analysis and experiments.
