Abstract

Field Investigation of Rotational Mechanism of Revolving Bookshelf within Buddhist Sutra Storehouse of Kenchuji Temple (continued report) A report on the results of rotational measurements, investigation of rotational resistance, etc. concerning the revolving bookshelf (rinzo) of the Kenchuji Temple (Nagoya) was presented at the 2004 conference, but measurements and investigations were carried out once again following the restoration of this revolving bookshelf. A comparison of results prior to the restoration, as previously reported, and measurement results and other data after the restoration (before and after placing sutras back on the bookshelf) has been carried out. This paper will report on the results of such comparison and present observations.
