Abstract
The synchronous belt generally has high transmission efficiency. However the designer must be considered that the transmission efficiency of synchronous belt decreases by the driving condition. Therefore, by clarifying the mechanism caused the driving loss, the transmission efficiency of equipment used the synchronous belt can be improved. In the previous report, the content that pitch difference, belt width and thickness of the synchronous belt under the no transmitted load affect the transmitted loss of belt is reported. In the present study, the driving loss in synchronous belt under the transmitted torque was investigated the experimentally regarding the installation tension and the torque. Transmitted loss increases in proportion to the installation tension, and has the small effect on the change in torque. The transmission efficiency deteriorates, when the installation tension is set high and the torque is very small.
