Abstract
In this paper, technology applied to a laser drilling machine for printed wiring boards that can mount and drill two panels at a time with multiple laser beams is presented. To meet the increasing demand for higher interconnection density and higher productivity in printed wiring board production, the machine by either CO_2 laser or UV laser is equipped with originally-designed galvanometer scanners that can move from a point to another in up to 2000Hz. Two beam types whose power density distribution are Gaussian and top-hat shape are available.
