Abstract
The thermosyphon system doesn't need external power, and be one of the heat exchangers that can get a large amount of heat transfer with small temperature gradients. Therefore, the thermosyphon has been recognized as the effective equipment for today's saving resource and the problem of energy conservation. Then, we tried that the application of the thermosyphon was investigated for the welfare engineering and the warm handrail (the gripper section) in winter season. In this paper, to estimate the effect of the length of gripper section and the bend angle of gripper section on the heat transfer performance of the thermosyphon, the local temperature distribution of the handrail were measured. As a result, the influence by the bend angle was hardly seen and when the length of gripper section is shorter it has been understood that the temperature collection rate at a gripper section is larger.
