Abstract

A purpose of this study is the investigation of the applicability of the surface modification by fine particle peening for the surface treatment of Au plating. Surface modification by the peening treatment was carried out with various particles, glass beads, fly-ash, black silicon carbide and white alumina. Friction experiment was connected to ascertain the adhesion strength in the service condition such as bearing interface. As results, specific particles were available for the impact media for the improvement the surface treatment for Au plating.
