Abstract
Manufacturing Work Breakdown Structure (Mfg. WBS) has been developed and applied to the manufacture of engineered products. Mfg. WBS consists of Product WBS (PWBS) and Functional WBS (FWBS), which has three features. One is Mfg. WBS has a matrix structure, the second is Mfg. WBS has a hierarchical structure, and the third is Mfg. WBS composes Work Packages (WP) which are minimum units for controlling quality, costs and schedules. Mfg. WBS, which is a new concept, brings about an innovative management at the viewpoints of segments, projects, products and business processes in the manufacture of engineered products.
