The purpose of this study is to develop a training system of the arthroscopic surgery to provide more efficient training for surgeons. The training system was composed of 4 functionally-partitioned systems; the box training, the virtual reality (VR) training, the knee model training and the practical training systems. Feature and structure of knee were obtained from MRI data set using the 3-D reconstruction algorithm and computer aided manufacturing (CAM). Many of these systems provided the trainees with evaluation index which was useful in recognition of their weak points, so that the arthroscopic surgical skills could be improved efficiently.
