In this paper we focus on knowledge sharing and confidential agreement in laboratories. As a basis of knowledge sharing between academic laboratories and companies, research priority should be proven in some measure. When a "comprehensive confidential agreement" is concluded between a principal investigator and a member in a laboratory, trade secrets should be well defined. Laboratory notebook, a notebook recording research plans and results every day and having signature of adequate experts, can be used for proving academic priority and defining trade secrets. Laboratory notebook can also be used for management of research proceeding, knowledge fusion, knowledge transmission and determination of inventor or authorship, in a laboratory.
