Abstract
Bearing stiffness influences the performance of power transmissions. Various reports about the analysis of bearing stiffness have being published. In these reports. the method of Harris is the most general. Especially about the stiffness analysis of the tapered roller bearing, it is necessary to consider the contact field between the cones. However this problem cannot be solved. So Palmgren's empirical formula is applied in the method of Harris. In the present paper, the tooth flank film elements (TFFE) applied to solve the contact problem between tapered rollers and tapered raceways. And the availability of the evaluation method of the bearing stiffness with TFFE is confirmed.
