It is very effective for a designer that the gear profile can be grasped before the gear cutting. Therefore, we have designed and developed the gear generation simulation system. Using developed system, the designer input basic gear dimensions and optional rack shape, he can see the gear profile quickly. In addition, the designer can confirm the gear shape in 3D limited to the spur gear. In this research, the generation using semi-topping rack tool which performed sharpening a corner on the tip of the gear is added to the simulation system newly. In addition, the 3D picture of the helical gear can be simulated. The developed system is very useful that can be generated the gear from any shape of the rack.
